The Sarah Hughes Trust Lecture

The Sarah Hughes Trust Lecture is an annual event held at the Royal Society of Medicine under the auspices of the History of Medicine Society.

Sarah was a history graduate from St Andrews University and was fascinated by, studied and wrote about the human condition in all its manifestations, good or bad, real or imagined.

We are thrilled to announce Baroness Brenda Hale as guest speaker at this year's Sarah Hughes Trust Lecture. The former president of the UK Supreme Court will explore the conflicts between press freedom and personal privacy and how they may be reconciled.
